British Directory respects the intellectual property rights of others. We aim to operate our directory, which covers diverse sectors from Building & Construction to Veterinary services, in compliance with copyright law. We expect all users to uphold these same standards.
This policy outlines our procedures for addressing alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). It details how to report infringing content and how to respond if your content is affected.
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe content listed on britishdir.co.uk infringes your copyright, please send a written DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent. Your notice must contain specific details as required by the DMCA to be valid.
The notice should include the following elements:

- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Counter-Notification Process
If British Directory removes your content due to a copyright infringement claim, you may submit a counter-notification. This process allows you to dispute the removal of your content.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will provide a copy to the original complaining party. The counter-notification must include the following details:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location where the material appeared before its removal or access was disabled.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
- Your name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if your address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which British Directory may be found. You must also accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notification or an agent of such person.

Repeat Infringer Policy
British Directory maintains a strict policy regarding repeat infringers. Users, businesses, or entities who repeatedly post or upload infringing content to our directory, across any of our listed categories such as IT & Computing or Food & Drink, will have their listings or access to our services terminated.
We reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion if it violates this policy or our terms of service. This helps maintain the integrity of our directory.
